How Motiva Ergonomix® Implants Enhance Natural Results

This technique is made possible by two new technologies from Establishment Labs. The Motiva Ergonomix implant’s shell-gel relationship and physical characteristics allow for insertion through a very small incision. Additionally, the channel separator and dilator balloon create a dissected pocket in a pre-fascial plane for implant placement, nesting among separated but not incised ligamentous structures.

Innovative Surgical Technique with Minimal Incision

During the procedure, lidocaine and epinephrine-containing fluid are introduced into the loose area above the pectoralis fascia. A thin, blunt instrument called a channel separator creates a pathway for a pocket dilator, which is essentially an inflatable balloon. This balloon is inflated in the pre-pectoral sub-mammary space, creating an implant pocket without the internal use of a scalpel, scissors, or cautery. The only incision or sharp dissection is the skin incision.  The implant is then placed using a flexible surgical funnel, limiting skin contact with its surface.

Superior Placement for Enhanced Fullness and Cleavage

The implant is placed more superiorly and medially than traditional sub-pectoral or even sub-fascial breast implant placements. By preserving the circummammary ligaments, the implant draws the breast tissue up onto its surface, creating enhanced projection and lift. This leveraging of the inherent breast anatomy allows for smaller implants to create fuller results than previously possible.
